NAYI ROSHNI’S PROJECTS FOR HEALTH CARE

Nayi Roshni Foundation organized a number of free health check up camps in the last few years since 2015 for the less privileged people in different parts of Guwahati city and on the outskirts. We recognize the challenges that the most vulnerable face when it comes to access to primary healthcare. Such health care camps address immediate health care needs and early diagnosis of diseases, reducing the incidences of mortality in the state of Assam through free health check up camps and thrive to continue to do so.

Health Check up camps (Especially in locations inhabited by ST’s)

The initiative was started with the aim of making basic medical care more accessible. In such free multispecialty health camps we offer thorough check up by a doctor and free distribution of prescribed medicines. Until now we have organized eight of such camps with ongoing plans of carrying out more in the current financial year. The camp was organised for the children and senior citizens of Rani in Kamrup (M) district in July 2019. A senior physician Dr. Dhrubojyoti Das volunteered with the NGO to administer free health check up for the locals. The NGO also set up a counter for free distribution of prescribed drugs to the patients attended by the doctor.

The NGO initiated several health check-up camps in collaboration with senior Dr. Arun Paharia (MBBS) through May’18 to March’19 within and on the outskirts of Guwahati city. Arrangements were made to conduct general physical examinations as well as Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Haemoglobin etc. Dr. Paharia also spent time in advising about general health care guidelines as well as on Dangers of Smoking and Drinking.

Health Awareness camp organised for elderly people at Mothers Old Age Home on 25th of January 2020.
