Nayi Roshni Foundation organized an awareness program on prevention of child abuse. The event was conducted in SOS Children’s Village Guwahati. The program was aimed at providing children and their care takers with aid, information, and tools to address child sexual abuse. The volunteers of the NGO came up with innovative ideas to educate the children about a good touch and bad. The event was accompanied by hosting some outdoor sports activities for the children.

In the latter half of 2017, Nayi Roshni Foundation took the initiative of extending support and counselling to runaway children and young adults, particularly those vulnerable to peddling drugs, substance abuse and prostitution. The awareness program addressed all forms of drug abuse problem in the local community, including the underage use of legal drugs like that of tobacco or alcohol as well as the use and dependency on illegal drugs like marijuana or heroin etc. The counsellor also focussed on the inappropriate use and abuse of legally obtained substances like that of inhalants, prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs. The program concluded with the counsellors offering alternative suggestions on opting for educational opportunities or engaging with skill development programs and employment propositions to motivate them towards improving their lives.
